Sheldon Pattern!

Okay if you have tried any of my other patterns you know I am not your traditional crocheter. In the sense that I really do not follow rounds. So please be advised this pattern is not written with proper rounds. This is how I create, I just go with what feels right and what looks right as I am creating. I hope you enjoy the pattern!

Supplies:
3.5 hook
7.5 black safety eyes
And I used Red Heart Super Saver Yarn. You will need a skin/buff color, red, brown, black and a bit of white, yellow
and blue. I used Red Heart Luster Sheen Yarn for the hair.
Filling, scissors and a needle. Stuff your doll as you are working.

Abbreviations:
Ch~Chain
Sc~Single crochet
Dc~Double crochet
Invedec~Invisible decrease
Sk st~Skip stitch
Fo~Fasten Off
X~Multiply, means do this sequence this many times. If it follows brackets ( ) that means do the sequence inside the pattern the indicated times.

Body (Worked as one piece, you will start at the top of his head)
• With skin color 6sc in magic ring.
• (2sc in next st) x 6.
• (Sc, 2sc in next st) x 6.
• (Sc, sc, 2sc in next st) x 6.
• (Sc x 3, 2sc in next st) x 6.
• (Sc x 4, 2sc in next st) x 6.
• Sc x 36.
• (Sc x 5, 2sc in next st) x 6.
• Sc x 100.
• (Sc x 6,2sc in next st) x 6.
• Sc x 480.
• (Sc, sc, invdec) x 20.
• Invdec x 19.

Now you should be left with 9 sc, including the sc that is on your hook. You are going to now start his neck.

• Sc x 30.
• (Sc, 2sc in next st) x 12.

Now fold the piece in half, laying it on a flat service. Make sure the stitch you have on our hook is in the middle of your piece, this is the back of your doll. Then insert your safety eyes. I inserted my eyes about 14 rows down from the top of his head. Stuff your dolls head firmly. From this point on stuff your doll as you are working. And please over stuff your neck to avoid wobbly neck syndrome.

• Switch to red. Sc x 21.
• (Sc, 2sc in next st) x 9.
• Sc x 64.
• (Sc, sc, 2sc in next st) x 10.
• Sc x 365.
You should now be in the middle of the back of your doll.
• Sc x 40 in front loops.
• Sc x 40.
• Fo, weave in ends.

Now you are going to start working on his pants. So roll up the shirt to the round where you worked around in the front loops only....insert your hook in the middle of the back of your doll.

• Switch to brown.Sc x 40.
• Sc x 7, invdec, sc x 20, invdec.
• Sc x 26, invdec, sc x 16, invdec.
• Sc 147.

Now you will be starting his first leg. You should be in the middle of your dolls back.

• Skip 18 stitches, sc x 367.
• Sc x 16 in front loops.
• Sc x 32, fo, weave in ends.

Now you will be starting the second leg. With the back of your doll facing you insert your hook into the first sc beside your first leg. Please note there will be a small space in between both legs. Once your doll is stuffed you will use some of the brown yarn to sew this area closed.

• Sc x 17 , the last sc will attach the leg together as one circle.
• Sc x 360.
• Sc x 16 in front loops.
• Sc x 32, fo, weave in ends.

Arm (Make 2)
• With skin color 6 sc in magic ring.
• (2sc in next st) x 6.
• Sc x 15.
• Bobble Stitch.
• Sc x 4, invdec, sc x 5, invdec.
• Sc x 3, invdec, sc x 3, invdec, sc x 27, invdec, sc x 29
• Switch to blue, sc x 22.
• Switch to red, sc x 8.
• Switch to white, sc x 15.
• Switch to red, sc x 22, fo, leave a long tail. You will use this tail to sew the arm to your doll.

Lightening Patch
• With white 6sc in magic ring.
• (2sc in next st) x 6.
• (Sc, 2sc in next st) x 6.
• Sc x 10, fo, leave a long tail. You will use this tail to sew your lightening patch to your doll.

Feet

With the back of your doll facing you, roll up the pant leg to the round where you crochet in the front loops only in the pants. You should be able to clearly see this round. In the middle of the back of your dolls leg with the color black insert hook pull up stitch and sc x 12 around to make a complete circle.

• With black Sc x 42.
• Turn, ch1, sc x 5.
• (Turn, ch 1, sc x 5) x 5.
• Sc x 60 around the entire piece.
• Fo, weave in ends. Repeat process for second leg.
Sole Of Foot
• With black Ch6.
• Turn, sc x 5.
• (Turn, ch2, sc x 5) x 6.
• Fo, leave a really long tail. You will use this tail to sew the sole onto the foot of your doll.

Hair/Wig cap

You will work the wig the same as you did for the first few round of your head.

• With the same brown used for the pants you will 6sc in ring.
• (2sc in next st) x 6.
• (Sc, 2sc in next st) x 6.
• (Sc x2, 2sc in next st) x 6.
• (Sc x 3, 2sc in next st) x 6.
• (Sc x 4, 2sc in next st) x 6.
• Sc x 36.
• (Sc x 5, 2sc in next st) x 6.
• Sc x 100.
• (Sc x 6, 2sc in next st) x 6.
• Sc x 100, dc x 11, sc.
• Fo, leave a really long tail. You will use this tail to sew your wig cap to your doll.

Ears (Make 2)
• With skin color 7sc in magic ring.
• Fo, leave a long tail.
• Eyeball it where you would like your ears to go. Then sew them to your doll.

Assembly

Now you will stuff the feet firmly. And sew one sole onto the bottom of each foot. Weave in ends.

Sew the wig cap onto your dolls head, with the dc area at the nape of the neck. Now you will take a needle and cut long strips of the Luster Sheen yarn by Red Heart. There is no exact length required. You will thread your needle. I always use a really long heavy duty needle when making hair. You will insert your needle anywhere on your dolls head and then just embroider long strips all over your dolls head where you want hair to be. I usually determine where I want the part to be and the bangs first. And as you go you will be covering up the wig.

Keep going cutting long strips and sewing on strands of hair until you achieve the desired look. And the wig cap ensures the scalp is brown in case any of your hairs move or if you don’t want to go really heavy on the hair. Embroider a lightning bolt onto your white circle and then sew the circle onto your doll. And sew the patch to your doll. Bazinga!!! Now enjoy your own mini Sheldon
